ADIS16505 is a precision micro electromechanical system (MEMS) Inertial measurement unit (IMU), which includes a three-axis gyroscope and a three-axis accelerometer. Each inertial sensor in ADIS16505 combines signal conditioning to optimize dynamic performance. Factory calibration describes the sensitivity, bias, alignment, linear acceleration (gyroscope bias), and impact point (accelerometer position) of each sensor. Therefore, each sensor has a dynamic compensation formula that can provide accurate sensor measurements under a wide range of conditions.
ADIS16505 provides a simplified and cost-effective method for integrating precise, multi-axis inertial sensing into industrial systems, especially when compared to the complexity and investment associated with discrete design. All necessary motion testing and calibration are part of the factory production process, greatly reducing system integration time. Tight orthogonal alignment simplifies the alignment of inertial frames in navigation systems. The Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) and register structure provide a simple interface for data collection and configuration control.
ADIS16505 comes in a 100 ball, ball grid array (BGA) package, approximately 15 mm in size × 15 mm × 5 mm.
