VOK®-FA 620 is used solely for dispersion and stabilization of organic pigments and carbon black

Overview: VOK®-FA 620 is a wetting and dispersing agent used to produce concentrated slurry of high concentration and low viscosity water-based pigment.

VOK®-FA 620 is used for application and performance pigment paste is suitable for coloring various water-based coatings, such as mercerized emulsion paint, high-gloss emulsion paint, paper paint and water-based industrial paint. Generally, the pigment paste can be added into the coating with a concentration of up to 10%.

VOK®-FA 620 can be used as a grinding carrier and can be used with polar solvents (such as water and glycol). This product can also be used with polymerized dispersants (such as VOK®-FA 504). We recommend using this polymeric dispersant for pigment pastes containing hydrophilic pigments and fillers, such as most iron oxides and calcium carbonate.

The stability of the pigment paste depends on its viscosity. Addition of protective colloid (such as cellulose thickener) or excessive VOK®-FA 620 can increase the viscosity of pigment paste and improve its stability. The pigment slurry is preferably prepared on a ball mill, sand mill and ball mill. Pigment paste that is easy to disperse pigment can also be prepared by high-speed dispersion machine.

VOK®-FA 620 The addition amount of  determined by the step-by-step test method. We recommend testing VOK®-FA 620 has the lowest paste viscosity only when it is added with different amounts.

In order to obtain good stability, we recommend that the actual addition amount exceed 30% of the theoretical addition amount, for example:

l6%VOK®-FA 620 can obtain minimum viscosity

Recommended dosage: 8%

If necessary, SERDASGBR or SERDAS GBO can be added as defoamer, with the addition amount of 0.2-0.4% of the total amount of grinding slurry.
