There are some automotive applications that are suitable for indicator lights and LCD local dimming backlighting. For such applications, most people believe that multi-channel constant current LED drivers are required. It is required to obtain the same intensity and LED color temperature. To ensure system level security, the LED driver must be able to detect faults.
TLC6C5724-Q1 device is a 24 channel constant current RGB LED driver for vehicles, which can be used to test on this LED. The TLC6C5724-Q1 device can provide an output current of up to 50mA (set by an external resistor). The device has a 7-point correction function, and each channel outputs 2 ranges. The device also provides 8-bit intensity control for the output of each color group. The intensity of each output can be adjusted through 12 bit, 10 bit or 8 bit gray scale control.
The circuit of the device can detect various system faults, including LED fault, adjacent pin short circuit fault, reference resistor fault, etc. Pendulum rate control has 2 adjustable positions to minimize system noise. There is a time interval when the output level changes from one LED group to another. This interval helps to reduce the starting current. SDI and SDO pins allow multiple devices to be connected in series and controlled through a serial interface.
