TPS43350-Q1 and TPS43351-Q1 contain two current mode synchronous step-down controllers designed for on-board applications in harsh environments. This device is very suitable for multi rail systems that require low quiescent current because they operate in a low power consumption mode (current consumption is only 30 µ A) under light load.
This device provides protection features such as overheat protection, soft start, and overcurrent protection. In the case of a short circuit at the voltage regulator output, the current turn back characteristic is activated, which limits the current flowing through the metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor (MOSFET) (used to control power dissipation). Two independent soft start inputs can independently realize output voltage slow rise during startup.
The programmable range of switching frequency is between 150kHz and 600kHz, that is, the frequency of the external clock to which the device can be synchronized. In addition, TPS43351-Q1 provides frequency hopping and spreading operations.
