German technical background VOK ®- Disper 111 Wetting Dispersant
VOK ®- Disper 111 is used for solvent based and solvent-free coatings and printing inks to stabilize the solvent-free wetting dispersant of inorganic pigments, especially titanium dioxide. Strongly reduce the viscosity of the abrasive.
Product Information
Chemical composition
Phosphate ester
Typical Physicochemical Data
The data given in this data page are only typical values, not technical indicators of the product.
Acid value: 129 mg KOH/g
Density (20 ° C): 1.16 g/ml
Storage and transportation
Mix well before use. Delamination or turbidity may occur, heat to 30-40 ° C and stir.
Due to its high acid value, the additive may accelerate the crosslinking of the baking paint system. During storage, the viscosity rise of the paint system shall be checked.
Application field
Coating Industry and Printing Ink
Features and Benefits
The additive can deflocculate the pigment by stabilizing the steric hindrance. Because the particle size of the deflocculating pigment is small, it can obtain high gloss and improve color intensity. In addition, the transparency of transparent pigments and the hiding power of opaque pigments are also improved. Due to the reduction of viscosity, the flowability is improved and the content of pigment can be increased. When the electrostatic high-speed rotating cup equipment is used for construction, the fog shadow of the coating containing inorganic pigment is well reduced.
Recommended use
The additive is recommended for solvent based and solvent-free coatings and printing inks to stabilize inorganic pigments, especially titanium dioxide. Its anionic properties make it suitable for acid catalytic systems (such as coil coatings).
Recommended dosage
The amount of additives (purchase form) is based on:
Inorganic pigment: 2.5-5%
Titanium dioxide: 1-3%
The above recommended dosage is for reference, and the appropriate dosage shall be determined through a series of tests.
Adding method and processing guidance
In order to obtain good performance, additives must be added to the grinding material first, and then the pigment.
