Modified polyurethane solution
Typical Physicochemical Data
The data given in this data page are only typical values, not technical indicators of the product.
Amine value: 18 mg KOH/g
Density (20 ° C): 1.03 g/ml
Non volatile matter (20 minutes, 150 ° C): 60%
Solvent: butyl acetate
Flash point: 26 ° C
Storage and transportation
When the temperature is below 0 ° C, stratification or turbidity may occur. Heat to 20 ° C and mix thoroughly before use. The color of the product may change during storage, but this phenomenon does not affect its performance.
Special reminder
The post-treatment of some organic pigments will have a negative impact on the performance of the additive. In this case, the same type of untreated pigment can be used. When applied to coil coatings, the interaction between the cationic promoter and acid catalyst must be considered. Free acid or epoxy blocked acid is more suitable than amine blocked acid. This problem can be solved by using VOK ®- Disper 170 series additives.
Application field
Coating industry
Features and Benefits
The additive makes the pigment deflocculate and stable through steric hindrance, and it also makes the pigment particles have the same charge. The resulting repulsive effect and steric stability prevent the pigment from co flocculation, thus obtaining the color without floating and blooming in the system containing multiple pigments. The flocculating property of the additive can improve the luster, color strength, transparency and hiding power, and reduce the viscosity of the abrasive.
Recommended use
This additive is more than VOK ®- Disper 163 has low polarity and high solid content, and can be used in many solvent based formulations. It can also be used for post addition for batch remediation. For the new formula, it is recommended to test the new product VOK ®- Disper 2164。
Recommended dosage
The amount of additives (purchase form) is based on:
Inorganic pigment: 12-15%
Titanium dioxide: 3-4%
Organic pigment: 20-35%
Carbon black: more than 60-70% of the recommended amount is for reference, and the appropriate amount needs to be determined through a series of tests. Adding method and processing guidance
In order to obtain good performance, additives must be added to the grinding material first, and then the pigment. Premix the resin and solvent components in the abrasive, and then slowly add the auxiliary agent in the state of continuous stirring. Do not add pigments when the auxiliaries have not been completely dispersed evenly.
When it is used for post addition (to remedy defective batches), the additive should be added slowly under high shear force.
