German technical background VOK ®- Disper 115 Wetting Dispersant
VOK ®- Disper 115 is a wetting and dispersing agent used to stabilize pigment dispersion in solvent based industrial coatings, architectural coatings and pigment concentrates.
Product Information
Chemical composition
High molecular weight block copolymer solution containing pigment affinity group.
Typical Physicochemical Data
The data given in this data page are only typical values, not technical indicators of the product.
Amine value: 25 mg KOH/g
Density (20 ° C): 0.96 g/ml
Non volatile matter (20 min., 150 ° C): 52%
Solvent: xylene/butyl acetate/propylene glycol methyl ether acetate
Flash point:>24 ° C
Storage and transportation
When the temperature is lower than 10 ° C, stratification and turbidity may occur. Heat to 20 ° C and mix thoroughly before use.
Special reminder
The surface treatment of some organic pigments will have a bad effect on the performance of the additive. In this case, the same type of untreated pigment can be used.
Application field
Coating industry
Features and Benefits
The additive can deflocculate the pigment by stabilizing the steric hindrance. It can also make the pigment particles have the same charge, and the resulting repulsive effect and steric stability prevent the pigment from co flocculation, so as to obtain the color without floating color and blooming in the system containing multiple pigments.
Because the particle size of the deflocculating pigment is small, it can obtain high gloss and improve color intensity. In addition, the transparency of transparent pigments and the hiding power of opaque pigments are also improved. Due to the reduction of viscosity, the flowability is improved and the content of pigment can be increased.
Recommended use
Recommended for industrial coatings and high-grade architectural coatings. Because of its wide compatibility and the ability to reduce the viscosity of the abrasive, it is very suitable for pigment concentrate formulations.
Recommended dosage
Additive dosage (purchase form) is based on pigment:
Titanium dioxide: 2-4%
Inorganic pigment: 10-25%
Organic pigment: 25-65%
Carbon black: 50-100%
The above recommended dosage is for reference, and the appropriate dosage shall be determined through a series of tests.
Adding method and processing guidance
In order to obtain good performance, additives must be added to the grinding material first, and then the pigment. Pre mix the resin in the abrasive with each solvent component, and then slowly add the auxiliary agent under stirring. The pigment can be added only after the auxiliary agent has been completely dispersed and uniform.
