German technical background  VOK®-609 N wax dispersion

VOK®-AP 609 N is a wax-modified lanolin-based dispersion for solventborne can coating applications. Improved scratch resistance and surface slip without compromising flexibility.

Melting point (wax composition): 85 °C 

Particle size distribution 

Particle size distribution (laser diffraction, volume distribution): D50: 3 μm D90: 6 μm 

Viscosity (23 °C, D=800/s): <100 mPa·s 

The additive is suitable for food contact applications. 

Storage and transportation 

The product is temperature sensitive. Store and transport below 35°C, stir well before use.

Recommended dosage 

1.5-2% additive dosage (purchased form) is based on the total coating formulation. 

The above recommended addition amount is for reference, and the suitable addition amount needs to be determined by a series of tests 

Incorporation method and processing guidance 

The additive is best added at a low shear rate at the end of production, stirring well before use.
