VOK®-SL 306 contains silicones as a surface additive for room-temperature curing plastic systems and solventborne coating systems that significantly reduces surface tension.

Features and benefits 

VOK®-SL 306 is a highly effective silicone additive that significantly reduces surface tension and thus improves wetting of difficult-to-wet substrates. When used in pigment filling systems, it prevents the formation of Bernard vortices and improves leveling. 

Recommended apps 

VOK®-SL 306 is recommended for polyurethane and epoxy systems. 

Recommended dosage 0.1-0.5% Additive dosage (purchased form) is based on total formulation

Joining methods and processing instructions 

The additive can be added at any stage of the production process or later. 

The additive can be added at the final stage of production to avoid foam stabilization, a method that has proven to be very effective.

Pay special attention

Compared to silicone fluids, the additive is safer to use. However, surface defects should still be tested in the corresponding system before mass use.

The silicone additive significantly reduces the surface tension of the coating system and effectively wets difficult-to-wet substrates. VOK®-SL 306 improves acceptance of dust and paint mist and increases surface slip. The additive reduces the sensitivity of wood and furniture coatings to air currents and improves the orientation of matting agents.
