3209 bearing is a kind of double row angular contact ball bearing. Double Row Angular Contact bearings are designed to work as two single row angular contact bearings but take up less axial space. They can accommodate radial loads and axial loads in both directions.
The bearings have a 30-degree contact angle with the ball sets arranged back-to-back. Cage material can be either metal (no suffix) or glass-reinforced polyamide with the suffix "TN9".
Double Row Angular Contact bearings are available in open design (no seals or shields) or with Metal Shields "2Z" and Rubber Seals "2RS1". The shielded and sealed bearings come pre-greased with high-quality NLGI class 3 grease with a temperature range of -30 to +120 degree C and are marked with suffix "MT33".
3209 Angular Contact Ball Bearing FeaturesOccupies less axial space
It can be used in applications where the axial space is limited when two single row angular contact ball bearings are arranged back to back.
Can bear radial load and axial load in two directions
Can withstand an overturning moment
Rigid bearing arrangement
Compared with single row angular contact ball bearings, double row angular contact ball bearings have better rigidity and can withstand overturning moments. The bearing is non-separable. Especially suitable for applications with high rigidity requirements. Widely used in front-wheel hubs of cars (some models also use double row tapered roller bearings of the same size)
