Dandelion is a commonly used traditional Chinese medicine. It has the effects of clearing away heat and detoxifying, reducing swelling and dispersing, and diuresis. It has been proven by modern medicine to have antibacterial, antiviral, anti-gastric, anti-oxidant, liver-protecting and anti-tumor effects. The currently recognized active ingredient of dandelion is flavonoids.
