Paeonol is an active ingredient derived from the dried root bark of peony. Paeonol is a white or yellowish lustrous needle crystal. Paeonol has analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic and anti-allergic effects. It has obvious inhibitory effects on inflammatory reactions caused by egg white, formaldehyde, histamine, xylene and endotoxin.
