The types of monitors available in the 3500 system are summarized in Table 1. Each occupies one slot in the frame. All monitors are designed based on microprocessors and can digitally adjust the warning and danger setpoints for each channel. The alarm can be configured as a latching or non latching operation. The status of each monitor and channel is displayed through bright LEDs on the front panel, allowing for direct observation without the need for operator intervention, making operation simpler and more convenient. Most monitors can output proportional values of 4 to 20mA for each channel through I/O modules, connected to paper tape recorders or old-fashioned process control systems without digital interfaces. The short circuit protection terminal on the monitor I/O module can provide power to the sensor. The OK detection path within each monitor continuously checks the integrity of each sensor and its corresponding field wiring. The sensor output signal is buffered and transmitted to the coaxial connector 2 on the front panel. The rear of the RIM I/O module has buffered output terminals.
