Product features and advantages
VOK ®- Disper 2001 makes pigment deflocculate through steric stabilization, which also makes pigment particles have charges of the same nature. The resulting repulsion effect and steric stabilization prevent the pigment from thickening, thus eliminating the problem of floating color and blossoming in systems containing multiple pigments.
Because the particle size of the deflocculating pigment is small, it can improve the luster and color strength. The transparency of transparent pigments and the hiding power of opaque pigments can also be improved. For carbon black with very small particles, VOK ®- Disper 2001 can improve the blackness of carbon black. Moreover, due to the reduction of viscosity, the leveling performance is improved, and the addition amount of pigments can be increased. In many systems, VOK ®- Disper 2001 than VOK ®- The Disper 2000 has a stronger ability to reduce the viscosity of the abrasive.
Recommended use
VOK ®- Disper 2001 is specially recommended for automotive coatings, and is suitable for the base paint containing CAB and all finish paints. Even if CAB is added after grinding, the additive can prevent the pigment from thickening. In order to obtain good grinding effect, it is not necessary to use CAB in the grinding stage.
Recommended dosage
Additive dosage (purchase form) is based on pigment:
Inorganic pigment: 10-15%
Titanium dioxide: 5%
Organic pigment: 15-60%
Carbon black: 70-140%
The above recommended dosage is for reference, and the appropriate dosage shall be determined through a series of tests.
Adding method and processing guidance
In order to obtain good performance, additives must be added to the grinding material first, and then the pigment.
Pre mix the resin and solvent components in the abrasive, and then slowly add the auxiliary agent in the state of stirring. Pigments can only be added after the auxiliaries have been completely dispersed and uniform. Add VOK to the base material solution with low polarity ®- Disper 2001 may cause a transient increase in viscosity of the system. This is the characteristic of the product and has no influence on the final dispersion result. The above transient viscosity increase can be avoided by adding a small amount of polar solvent (such as alcohol or glycol solvent) to the auxiliary agent or abrasive.
