The IC698ETM001 is an Ethernet interface module that is manufactured by Emerson Automation, formerly GE Fanuc Automation. This module is part of the PACSystem RX7i Programmable Automation Controller (PAC) platform, enabling any rack installed with the IC698ETM001 module to connect to an existing Ethernet work for the purpose of Data Exchange with other controllers residing in the same network, Remote I/O implementation, communication with visualization systems and 3rd party software and tools such as databases and enterprise software applications.
The IC698ETM001 feature Two (2) Ethernet ports, bot capable of transmitting data in 10/100 Mbps communication speed with auto-sensing capability. These ports are designed to be physically connected with the use of RJ45 connectors and minimum of CAT5 cable. These ports support daisy chaining, allowing formation of linear, star and ring topologies and supports unique or redundant IP addressing. Additionally, it has One (1) serial communication port that is a 9-pin sub-D connector, supporting transmission speeds of 1200 - 115200 bps. This port is basically a Station Manager port that is used to perform configuration to the module.

The IC698ETM001 supports a variety of communication protocols such as TCP/IP communication services using Service Request Transport Protocol (SRTP), SRTP client, MODBUS TCP Server, and MODBUS TCP Client. Additionally, this module supports Time synchronization to SNTP time server on Ethernet network.
The IC698ETM001 is equipped with a variety of LED indicator that provide an overview of the module’s present state. These LEDs are MODULE OK, LAN ONLINE, STATUS, 100, LINK P1 and 100, LINK P2. This module is equipped with a dedicated microprocessor, enabling the module to perform processing capability with speed of 200 MHz.
