Function The SPS-2 is designed to signal that is has been rotated by a force being applied to the safety cable attached to it. It will lock in the alarmed condition until manually reset at the switch itself. It produces (2) SPDT outputs usually used for shutdown signal to the conveyor starter solenoid and PLC indication for upstream equipment. Location The SPS-2D are usually located on the conveyor along the walkway or other moving equipment. Maximum distances recommended without special consideration for the temperature induced expansion and contraction of the safety cable is 200 feet (60 M) on horizontal applications and 150 feet (45 M) on inclined applications. Although most engineered specifications are 50 feet shorted than these maximums.
