Product Details

Function The SPS-2 is designed to signal that is has been rotated by a force being applied to the safety cable attached to it. It will lock in the alarmed condition until manually reset at the switch itself. It produces (2) SPDT outputs usually used for shutdown signal to the conveyor starter solenoid and PLC indication for upstream equipment. Location The SPS-2D are usually located on the conveyor along the walkway or other moving equipment. Maximum distances recommended without special consideration for the temperature induced expansion and contraction of the safety cable is 200 feet (60 M) on horizontal applications and 150 feet (45 M) on inclined applications. Although most engineered specifications are 50 feet shorted than these maximums. Specifications • Microswitch Rating: 15 A @ 115-230V，30VDC non-inductive • Outputs: (2) SPDT • Actuation Angle: 20 degrees from normal • Enclosure: NEMA 4 • Conduit Holes: (2) ¾”-14 NPT • Temperature Rating: -45 to 176 F (-42 to 80 ℃), these ratings are based on physical tests, not on the actual switch rating, the positive closure of the alarm contact forces the alarm current signal to the alarm condition at the coldest of temperatures, alarm reset is hampered at temperatures below -40 Installation Electrical • All wiring should conform to all NEC codes for the area • The top terminals are NO and the bottom terminals are NC (See microswitch drawing)Spares, Maintenance, and Troubleshooting The only replacement part is the microswitch, otherwise complete replacement is recommended, contact your local distributor or Saimo for assistance.
