With the help of FG-200, users can quickly collect data from FF H1 devices using existing traditional DCS systems, without the need to specifically select DCS systems that support the FF H1 protocol, thereby greatly reducing costs. FG-200 also supports redundancy function, ensuring faultless process data exchange. In addition, it can run in parallel with the existing DCS system in the network without any impact on the existing system.
Connecting FF H1 devices to devices that support Modbus TCP/RTU protocol can provide greater flexibility and scalability for applications in the process industry - users can have a wider range of DCS system options in projects involving FF H1 bus, without being limited to the inability of DCS systems to support FF H1. In addition, this solution also promotes the integration of devices, enabling users to integrate different types and brands of devices into a unified system, achieving more efficient process control and management, while providing more options and optimization possibilities for projects in the process industry.

After receiving a commission for a chemical upgrading and renovation project, a system integrator discovered that a large number of FF H1 instruments were used on site, and these instruments were widely used to monitor and control various parameters in the chemical production process, such as temperature, pressure, and flow. The goal of this project is to achieve centralized monitoring and data collection of these instruments, and integrate them into the existing DCS system. However, the DCS system used by the system integrator does not have a communication module that supports the FF H1 protocol, making it impossible to directly collect and monitor data from FF H1 instruments, making the project more complex and challenging.
In response, the system integrator has been actively seeking solutions to achieve effective collection and centralized management of FF H1 instrument data. After in-depth market research and solution evaluation, it was ultimately decided to choose Softing's FG-200 gateway to address this challenge.
The FG-200 gateway can integrate FF H1 field devices into devices that support Modbus TCP and Modbus RTU, and Modbus as an open standard can be integrated into DCS systems by most manufacturers.
