Part 2: More details for HLC450/18inch hydraulic cutter suction dredger

1. Pontoons information

The cutter suction dredger consists of 3 rectangular shaped pontoons:

- One central pontoon, which houses the dredging installation

- Two side pontoons, which house ballast tanks, stores and voids.

The pontoons are of all-welded construction and have necessary stiffening. The two side pontoons are coupled to the central pontoon by means of wedges at their bottom and flanges with bolts at deck level.

2. Double diesels and genset information

 There are two diesel engines and one set of genset, installed in the central pontoon:

- Main diesel engine supplies power for dredging pump through reduction gear box

- Auxiliary diesel engine supplies power for hydraulic and control system

- Genset supplies power for emergency use and lighting when the dredger stop work

There are two kinds of diesel engines for option, Cummins engine and Deutz-MWM engine.

After sale service is all over the world for Cummins engine, while it has higher requirements for diesel oil and engine oil.

No after sale service for Deutz-MWM engine overseas, it is easily for maintaining and repairing and spares are cheap can be selected with dredger.

3. Cutter ladder and suction pipe

The cutter ladder is an enclosed welded steel circular structure, with adequate dimension and scantlings to sustain the various external forces at the dredging depths.

A suction pipe is fitted against the cutter ladder and runs from the cutter to the upper end of the ladder.

The cutter head is spiral structure with 5 blades, 6 teeth per each blade. Each teeth contain material Cr. for wear-proof and also can be replaced easily when it's broken.

Part 3: Warranty-transport-installation-training

1. Warranty period of quality 

The seller provides 12months warranty for the quality of the diesel engines, generators, gear boxes, pumps, cutters.

While following conditions are not included:

Accident, malicious damages, careless or wrong operation man-made damage

If happened, cost at the buyer's side, then the seller's responsible for repair or delivery new spares.

2. About installation and training  

After the dredger arrived at the working site, the seller sends two qualified and experienced engineers for installation and training work. The buyer arranges 6-8 workers as assistants to install and debugging. 

Working efficiency is related to operating skills of the workers. Generally, it costs 15-30days for installation and training workers how to operate this machine.

3. Why is the dredger shipped in bulk not in container? 

Because its size is large and can’t be putted into container.What’s more,if the dredger must be shipped in container, its main engine room has to be designed smaller, but it is inconvenient for maintaining or repairing in the long run.
