Smaller foundations and less floor space needed gives lower installation costsThe Lamella Settler Thickener (LST) also called inclined plate thickener is designed to remove particles from liquids. Its theory is put forward on the basis of Shallow tank, which tells the settling efficiency of sedimentation tank is only related to surface area. On LST the settling area is the total area of the inclined plates projected on a horizontal surface.This reduces the footprint of lamella settlers by about 90% as compared to conventional clarifiers and the efficiency of the sedimentation process is multiple increased.

Inclined plate classifier —Work Principle
The inclined plate thickener consists of two main components, the upper tank containing the lamella plates inclined at both 55° and 45° according to customers need and the lower conical or cylindrical sludge tank.
The feed for The inclined plate thickener enters through vertical chambers on either side of the plate packs and passes into each plate gap through slotted feed ports. Clarification takes place above the suspension inlet so there is no mixing of the clarified fluid with the incoming feed.
Above each pack is a full-length overflow launder fitted with throttling holes to create a slight hydraulic back pressure on the incoming feed stream. This method of feed control guarantees equal distribution to all inclined plate pack chambers with minimum turbulence at the entry points.
The solids settle onto and slide down each plate pack to the sludge tank where the solids are further thickened and compressed with the assistance of the raking system.
