Using the wood sanders
Connecting to the mains
The machine is designed for use with single phase alternating current 230V~50Hz/120V~60Hz, and is double-insulated. Make certain that the rated voltage stated on the device’s rating plate matches the local mains voltage.
If the work area is not close to the mains outlet, use an extension cable with sufficient conductor diameter (min. 1,5 mm2).
The extension cable used should be as short as possible and must be fully unwound before use.
Switching on and off
Intermittent operation
To switch the machine ON:Pull the trigger (5)
To switch the machine OFF:Release the trigger (5)
Trigger lock ON

Working with the machine
Fitting sanding sheets
The wood sanders is equipped with a hook and loop sheet change system. This makes it quick and easy to fit new sheets.
- Dust off the hook-and-loop pad on the sanding plate before attaching a new sanding sheet.
- The sanding sheet must fit the sanding plate and may not overlap.
- The holes punched in the sanding paper must line up with the holes in the sanding plate in order for the dust extraction to function properly.
Alternatively the sanding sheets can be secured with the clamp of the clamping mechanism.
- Dust off the hook-and-loop pad on the sanding plate before attaching a new sanding sheet.
- To clamp a sanding sheet lift the clamp lever.
- Insert the sanding sheet and push down the clamp lever.
- The clamp lever secures the sanding sheet.
- Ensure that the sanding sheet sits tight on the sanding plate. Press the sanding sheet against the sanding plate and secure the other end the same way.
- The holes punched in the sanding paper must line up with the holes in the sanding plate in order for the dust extraction to function properly.
Working with the device
When sanding, it is important to start with a coarse sanding sheet and to progress using finer sanding sheets. If the sanding sheet used is too coarse the surface finish will not be smooth, and could even become rougher. If the sanding sheet used is too fine, poor results will be achieved. The amount of material removed is determined by the motion of the sanding plate and the grit of the sanding sheet.
Move the sander either backwards and forwards or in a circular motion, with the sanding plate in parallel with the surface of the workpiece. Do not exert excessive pressure on the sander. Sanding sheets which are covered in dust or residue produce poor results.
If the sander is not connected to a dust extraction device the sanding sheet should be cleaned from time to time with a vacuum cleaner.
- Use the right abrasive for your application. Bear in mind the properties of the
workpiece and the results you wish to achieve.
- Sanding performance is determined largely by the choice of abrasive and the the
pressure applied while sanding.
- Do not use the machine with fluid polish abrasive material.
Selecting sanding sheets
Use the right abrasive for your application. Bear in mind the properties of the workpiece and the results you wish to achieve.
Material | Grit |
Paints Preparation(keying) Repairing scratches Removing rust | 180 120 40 |

Metal Aluminium Steel | 80 60 |
Changing the sanding plate
After heavy use the sanding plate can be dismounted to remove dirt.
- Remove the sanding sheet to change the sanding plate.
- Open and remove the screws with a screwdriver.
After cleaning refit the sanding plate and tighten the screws.
Dust extraction
- For the most effective removal of dust from the workpiece connect the machine to a dust extraction unit or a vacuum cleaner using the adapter supplied.
- Insert the adapter into the opening on the rear of the sander and connect the vacuum hose to the adapter.
- The dust extraction device must be suitable for the material of the workpiece.
- Use a special extraction device when extracting toxic, carcinogenic or very fine dust.
