Operation principle
The wet material is fed continuously from a feeder onto the top plate of the dryer. The rotating transport arms with plows transport the material in a spiral pattern across the heated surface of the plate. By this means, the product is repeatedly turned over and comes frequently into contact with the drying surface.
The material is conveyed towards the outer rim on the small diameter plates, where it fall over the edge onto the large plate directly below. On this plate the material is moved inwardly toward the central opening through which the material falls onto the next small plate. By means of this plate arrangement, the material is conveyed continuously through the drier.
The dried material falls from the last plate onto the bottom surface of the drying chamber where it is conveyed by means of plows to the discharge duct. The moisture is evaporated from the material during transport through the drier. At the same time, the hot air after being filtered and heated is blown into the drying chamber. The temperature of the hot air is similar to the plates temperature and its main function is to convey the moisture from the material. The wet gas will be exhausted into the air after being filtered by bags at the top of the drying chamber.
The heat medium can be hot water (100 degree C), steam (150 degree C) and hot oil (300 degree C). According to the nature of the material and special drying technique, the last plate can be filled with cooling medium to cool the material.

2. Contact drying yields high thermal efficiency and low energy consumption. The steam consumption is 1.3~1.6 kg/water
