Spherical plain bearings can carry a high capacity of radial and axial loads in a small envelope due to a large contact area. They are suitable for static oscillatory applications where moderate misalignment may be common, such as in mining and construction applications.
Spherical plain bearings have an inner ring with a sphered convex outside diameter and an outer ring with a correspondingly sphered but concave inside surface. Their design makes them particularly suitable for bearing arrangements where alignment movements between shaft and housing have to be accommodated, or where oscillating or recurrent tilting or slewing movements must be possible at relatively slow sliding speeds.
Spherical plain bearings requiring maintenance have the sliding contact surface combination steel-on-steel. Bearings with this sliding contact surface combination require regular relubrication. The high wear resistance of the sliding surfaces makes these bearings especially suitable for bearing arrangements where heavy loads of alternating direction, shock loads or heavy static loads have to be accommodated. Bearings which have cylindrical extensions at both sides of the inner ring are intended for applications where normally spacer sleeves are arranged at either side of the bearing, or are specially designed for the bearing arrangements of hydraulic cylinders.
Spherical rollers are put between the spherical raceway on the outer ring and the two grooves on the inner ring for there bearings. Since the center of the arc raceway on the outer ring is the same as the center of the whole bearing arrangement, there bearings are self-aligned and automatically adjust the bending of the shaft and housing and the eccentricity. The bearings can carry radial load and axial load in double directions. The especial radial load carrying capability makes there bearings suitable for heavy load and shock load carrying.
Spherical Plain Bearings are self-aligning spherical plain bushings that have inner and outer rings with spherical sliding surfaces, and can take a large radial load and a bi-directional axial load at the same time.
Steel-on-steel Spherical Plain Bearings have inner and outer rings of high carbon chromium bearing steel, of which sliding surfaces are phosphate-treated and then dry-coated with molybdenum disulfide (MOS2). They can, therefore, operate with low torque, and have excellent wear resistance and large load capacity.

1. To the heart joint bearings
(1) GE... E model sheet, no lubrication oil every outer ring. Can bear radial load and any direction of smaller axial load.

(9) GE... DEM1 type

(10) GE... DS type

4. Fixed-end joint bearings
(1) SI... E type is GE... E type bearings and pole terminal assembly body. With female threaded rod ends, materials for carbon steels, No lubrication oil groove. Can bear radial load and any direction less or equal 0.2 times radial load of the axial load.
(2) SA... E type is GE... E type bearings and pole terminal assembly body. Fixed-end out-of-band thread, materials for carbon steels, No lubrication oil groove, can bear radial load and any direction less or equal 0.2 times radial load of the axial load.
(3) SI... ES type is GE... ES type bearings and pole terminal assembly body. With female threaded rod ends, materials for carbon steels, Have lubrication oil groove. Can bear radial load and any direction less or equal 0.2 times radial load of the axial load.
