Lingonberry (Vaccinium vitis-idaeal) also called cowberry, foxberry, mountain cranberry, csejka berry, red whortleberry, lowbush cranberry, mountain bilberry, partridgeberry[1] (inNewfoundland and Cape Breton), and redberry (in Labrador) is a dwarf,evergreen,ericaceous shrub that grows to about 10-to 20-cm tall.It is seldom cultivated, but the fruits are commonly collected in the wild. The native habitat is the circumboreal forests of northern Eurasia and North America, extending from temperate into subarctic climates.
