♦Applications:
To measure the fine size which you cannot measure with a vernier scale and to check the tiny defects you cannot find by your human eye.
To measure the size of a tiny gap of a metal camera adapter and to take pictures of the metal camera surface texture for evaluation of quality, including surface roughness, contour, form, waviness and defects.
Calibration:
With a 10mm/ 0.1mm glass micro ruler (Figure 1), to calibrate the movable reticle of the software (Figure 2).

To test display resolution and true color expression of a “iPhone 5” Apple mobile phone
1. To calibrate reticle first (PC display resolution 1280*1024, image resolution of MDA2000:1600*1200), we
get: 1mm equals to 54 units in reticle at 240X.
2. Keep “iPhone 5” turning on and to capture image of screen (See Figure 5).
3. We can recognize that one dot (one group which is composed of one red bar, one green bar and one
blue bar) is covered by 5 units of reticle, and we work out that there are 274 dots in a range of one inch
(25.4* 54 / 5). There is a little difference in compare with 326 DPI (dot per inch) declared by iPhone 5
manual. We work out the display resolution of a Samsung GT-I9008L in the same way, it’s only 203.2 DPI.

You can inspect the quality of PCB surface without any support (See Figure7)
In Figure 8 you can check the gold coating wire between the silicon base and metal frame of Apian 1/2.5 inch
5MP digital image sensor one by one at 40 X, and to inspect the welding spots at 240X.
