POLYETHYLENE TAPE COATING & WRAPPING for underground pipeline ,this type coating system is made up of inner tape , outer tape and primer.

A primer bonds the steel to the adhesive layer. The inner PE adhesive layer offers corrosion protection and tightly bonds to the outer PE coating. A final spiral wound layer of fully stabilized PE coating has the rugged mechanical properties to protect pipe during handling, storage, and pipeline construction.

Usually, the primer is 27% solid content, the inner tape is 20 mils, the outer tape is 20 mils too, overlap 50%, the total coating thickness will be 80 mils.
