The high silicon content increases the fluidity of the weld pool, creating a smoother bead appearance and resulting in minimal post-weld grinding.

A general purpose welding wire for fabrication of mild steel. Contains more deoxidizers than ER70S-3. The additional deoxidizers also provide better wetting, giving a flatter bead shape and the capability of faster travel speeds. Usually used with 75/25 (argon/CO2) shielding gas or with higher contents of argon, such as 90/10. Can also be used with 100% CO2. Conforms to AWS A5.18 ER70S-6

This is the only wire recommended by all auto manufacturers for repairing today's steels. A high quality steel wire with a minimum tensile strength of 70,000 psi. Higher silica and manganese content means this wire will flow out better and weld through rust and paint easier. Use .023" dia. for sheet metal to 3/16", .030" dia. for 16 ga to 3/8" and .035" dia. for 14 ga to 1/2".
