HZ-QJ201 is a new kind of aluminium brazing flux matching aluminium base filler metal. It is widely used in brazing aluminium and aluminium alloy at the temperature of 450 to 620°C in the method of flame brazing, and furnace brazing. It can remove aluminium oxide effectively, and promote filler metal flowing and spreading in aluminium alloy. HZ-QJ201 is a common aluminium flux.
Physical Status: Granularity:≤150μm Density: 1.3-1.4 Standard: JB/T6045-92
Main Compositions: Alkali metal, alkaline-earth metal chlorides, fluoride, and active agent.
Operation:
In advance, properly place the brazing filler metal on the brazing joint which will be heated together with the workpieces. In the process of manual torch brazing, firstly, the brazing wire need to be tipped with the flux. Then, after the work pieces are heated to the brazing temperature, the brazing wire is manually handled to keep close to the brazing joint. The wires are evenly heated by the outer flame from the Multiples holes brazing torch. To protect the metallic materials, the flame should be placed at the proper distance away from the wires to avoid the oxidation the work pieces, producing high quality brazing seams.
Post treatment:
The residue of the QJ201 aluminium brazing flux attached on the work pieces is corrosive which should
be cleaned timely.
Several methods of post treatment:
1. Scrub the joint in the water with 50-60°C.
2. Complicated work pieces can be merged into cold water after the solidification of the filler metal. The residue can fall off the surfaces because of the sudden boiling of water. Partial component in the residue can be dissolved into the water. In this method, the temperature difference between the cold water and the workpieces should be cautiously controlled to prevent the shaping and cracking of the work pieces.
3. Use 30g/l concentrated oxalic acid, 15g/l concentrated sodium fluoride, and 30g/l concentrated #601 detergent water solution washing. Keep the temperature to be 70-80°C.
4. Use phosphoric acid with volumetric fraction of 5%, and chromic anhydride water solution with 1% mass concentration to wash at 82°C.
5. After being dipped in hot water, merge the work pieces in to the nitric acid with volumetric fraction of 10% and hydrofluoric acid with volumetric fraction of 0.25% for 2-3 min.
