HZ-Al15 is a new aluminum-zinc brazing filler metal incorporating a cesium based flux into a central channel running through the product. This unique product is designed to help companies fabricating aluminum components and especially manufacturers of copper components looking at alternative design options in aluminum.

Product uses:
HZ-Al15 may be used for manufacturing heating, refrigeration and air-conditioning components from aluminum alloys. Aluminum alloys from the 3000 and 6000 ranges may be joined successfully with this product. Aluminum to copper joints may be made successfully however consideration should be given to the potential for galvanic corrosion between copper and aluminum. This is a well-reported corrosive mechanism, which manufacturers must evaluate and be aware of before joining aluminum to copper. Preliminary salt spray corrosion testing has proved successful and more details are available on request.
Conditions for use: Indirect heating methods should be used in conjunction with HZ-Al15 wire and preforms. Excessive direct heat should be avoided. Controlled heat patterns such as those generated with flame brazing using fixed burners, induction heating or furnaces prove most successful.
Flux residues from HZ-Al15 are non-corrosive and insoluble in water. They may be left on the components after brazing.
