QDD-3 large torque friction type caliper disc brake
QDD model horizontal type pneumatic brake is large braking torque friction type brake. There are two models of it: QDD-2, QDD-3. It is similar with DBH, while structure of it is a little larger than DBH. This QDD model brake is air engaged, that is to say, when there is no air input, brake is releasing, after inputting air pressure, two friction pads will clamped rotating steel plate for stopping.

This friction type brake can be work for high speed rotating clamp, so friction pads will be worn for continous usage. One piece of new friction pad thickness is 11mm, the max total worn of two pieces of friction pads is 12mm.
For this structure and technical data table, we will know that QDD-3 braking force is nearly twice of QDD-2. For example, when braking disc diameter is 300mm. QDD-2 braking force is 900N.m, while QDD-3 produce braking power is 1500N.m. Max braking torque of QDD-2 is 2400N.m, QDD-3 is 4200N.m.
