The design of the Triconex system is to provide error free and uninterrupted control in the event of hard component failures or transient faults from internal or external sources. Fault tolerance is achieved through a complete three-layer structure of the entire system, from the input module to the main processor and then to the output module. Each I/O module has three independent pin circuits. Triconex is a brand of Schneider Electric, providing products, systems and services for safety, critical control and turbomachinery applications. The Triconex system is based on patented Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR) industrial safety shutdown technology.
