High temperature resistance

PEEK resin has high melting point (334℃) and glass transition temperature (1 43℃). The continuous use temperature is 260℃, and the load thermal variation temperature of 30%GF or CF reinforced grade is up to 316℃.

Mechanical characteristics

PEEK(polyether ether ketone) plastic raw material resin has good toughness and rigidity, it has excellent fatigue resistance to alternating stress comparable to alloy material.

Flame retardant

Flammability of materials is the ability to maintain combustion after obtaining high energy from oxygen and nitrogen mixtures. The accepted standard for measuring flammability is UL94, by igniting a vertical sample of a predetermined shape and then measuring the time it takes for the material to self-extinguishment. PEEK test results are V-0, which is the best grade of flame retardancy.

The ASTM E662 standard is used to measure the visible light dimness of the soot produced by the combustion of a sample of standard shape using the Soot Laboratory of the United States National Bureau of Standards (NBS). The specific optical density is used to measure the visible light dimness of the soot produced by the combustion of a sample of standard shape. The test can be performed under continuous combustion (with flame) or interrupted combustion (without flame) conditions. PEEK has the lowest smokiness among plastics.

Gas escape property

PEEK is similar to many organic materials. When decomposed at high temperature, PEEK mainly produces carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide. Using the British spacecraft test standard BSS 7239, PEEK can detect the emission of very low concentration of gas. The toxicity index is defined as the ratio between the concentration of the gas produced under normal conditions and the dose that can kill a person in 30 minutes. The index of PEEK450G is 0.22, and no acid gas is detected.

PEEK plastic material has superior dimensional stability, which is important for some applications. The changes of temperature, humidity and other environmental conditions have little influence on the size of PEEK parts, which can meet the requirements of high dimensional accuracy.

1. The injection molding shrinkage rate of PEEK plastic raw materials is small, which is very good for controlling the dimensional tolerance range of PEEK injection parts, so that the dimensional accuracy of PEEK parts is much higher than that of general plastics;

2. The thermal expansion coefficient is small, and the size of PEEK parts changes little with the change of temperature (which can be caused by the change of ambient temperature or friction heat generation during operation);

3. Good dimensional stability. The dimensional stability of plastics refers to the dimensional stability of engineering plastic products in the process of use or storage. This size change is mainly caused by the improvement of the activation energy of polymer molecules, which leads to a certain degree of crimp in the chain segment;

4.PEEK has outstanding heat-resistant hydrolysis characteristics, and its water absorption is very low in high temperature and humidity environment, so there will not be obvious changes in the size of general plastics like nylon due to water absorption;

Insulation stability

Radiation resistance and peel resistance

PEEK(polyether ether ketone) plastic raw material resin has good radiation resistance and peel resistance, so it can be used to make electromagnetic wire for special purposes.


PEEK resin is an ideal electrical insulator, which can still maintain good electrical insulation performance under harsh working conditions such as high temperature, high pressure and high humidity. Therefore, the electronic information field has gradually become the second largest application field of PEEK resin, manufacturing pipes, valves and pumps for conveying ultra-pure water. In the semiconductor industry, It is commonly used to make wafer carriers, electronic insulating diaphragms and various connecting devices. As a kind of semi-crystalline engineering plastic, PEEK is insoluble in almost all solvents except concentrated sulfuric acid, so it is commonly used to make compressor valves, piston rings, seals and various chemical pump bodies and valve parts. PEEK resin can also withstand up to 3,000 cycles of autoclaving at 134 ° C, making it suitable for use in highly sterilizable surgical and dental devices that require repeated use. PEEK not only has the advantages of light weight, non-toxic and corrosion resistance, but also is the material closest to human bone at present, which can be organically combined with the body. Therefore, using PEEK resin instead of metal to manufacture human bone is another important application in the medical field. PEEK resin was developed by ICI in the late 1970s. Since its publication, PEEK resin has been regarded as an important strategic defense material, and many countries have restricted its export.

application

Because PEEK(polyether ether ketone) plastic raw material resin has the above many advantages, so in the petrochemical industry, electronic and electrical, instrumentation, machinery and automobile, medical and health, aerospace, military nuclear energy and many other fields have been widely used. Examples: Now the relatively mature applications in China are: air compressor piston ring, thrust ring, choke ring, valve plate, mold valve, star wheel, sealing ring, ball valve seat, bearing cage, oil-free bearing, magnetic pump isolation sleeve, electrode, gear, screws, electromagnetic wire, radiation window protection, microwave digestion tank, wafer carrier, etc.


PEEK (polyether ether ketone) plastic material is an aromatic crystalline thermoplastic polymer material, its melting point is 334℃, with high mechanical strength, high temperature resistance, impact resistance, flame retardant, acid and alkali resistance, hydrolysis resistance, wear resistance, fatigue resistance, radiation resistance and good electrical properties.

The PEEK board generally has the following types:

Peek-1000 (brown gray) : PeeK-1000 is made of pure polyether ether ketone resin, which has the best toughness and impact resistance of all PEEK grades. The PEEK-1000 can be sterilized using the most convenient disinfection methods (steam, dry heat, ethanol, and Y-rays), and the raw materials used to manufacture the PEEK-1000 comply with the European Union and the United States FDA food safety regulations. These characteristics make the PEeK-1000 suitable for widespread use in the medical, pharmaceutical, and food processing industries.

PEEK-HPV (black) : The result of adding PTFE, graphite and carbon fiber makes PEEK-HPV a bearing grade plastic. Its superior frictional properties (low friction coefficient, wear resistance, high peak pressure limit) make it an ideal material for this class of friction applications.

PEEK-GF30 (Brown gray) : This material is filled with 30% glass fiber reinforced grade plastic and has better rigidity and creep resistance and dimensional stability than PEEK-1000, making it ideal for structural parts. It can bear fixed load at high temperature for a long time. If the PEEK-GF30 is used as a sliding part, its suitability should be carefully tested as the glass fiber scratches the mating surface.

PEEK-CA30 (black) : The material, filled with 30% carbon fiber reinforcement, has better mechanical properties (higher elastic modulus, mechanical strength, and creep) and more wear resistance than Peek-GF30, and the carbon fiber reinforced plastic is 3.5 times more conductive than the unreinforced PEEK plastic -- dissipating heat from the bearing surface more quickly.
