Chrome Corundum Casting Castables
Introduction:
Chrome Corundum Casting Castable (also called Chromium Corundum Refractory Castable or Chromium Corundum Castable), which is with chrome oxide and corundum as the main raw materials, through high pressure forming, high temperature firing and made of alumina and chrome oxide content is not less than 90%, chromium oxide content is not more than 50% of the shaped refractory products.
The main compositions of chrome corundum castable are AL2O3 and Cr2O3, these two components can form a continuous solid solution. adding Cr2O3 to the AL2O3 single-phase material not only increasing the thermal ability of the material in high temperature atmosphere, but also increasing refractoriness for the chromium and corundum combined castable. the melting point of this solid solution is at high temperature above 2050°C, which has high temperature resistance, washing and abrasion resistance. Cr2O3 can improve the slag corrosion resistance and spalling performance of refractory products. Therefore, the service life of chrome corundum castable is longer than normal corundum castable.

Characteristics

Production Process of Chrome Corundum Castable
Chrome corundum Castable is made of α- AL2O3 as raw material, adding appropriate amount of chromium oxide powder and chrome corundum clinker fine powder, forming and firing at high temperature. It can also be prepared by mud casting. α- AL2O3 powder and chromium oxide powder are mixed evenly. Thickeners are made by adding glue and organic binders. At the same time, part of the chrome corundum clinker is added, and the castable is made by grouting method.
Applications:
It is widely used in kilns, furnaces and thermal equipment of metallurgy, petroleum industry, chemical industry, building material, machinery, etc.
Cr2O3 in chrome corundum castable has very low solubility in molten slag, as Cr2O3 can enhance the viscosity of molten slag, then the dissolution erosion rate of chrome corundum castable is reduced. So chrome corundum castable is important refractory material used for oxidizing atmosphere melting furnace working lining.
