2.Working Principle

TBQ-2  working principle is based on a multi-junction thermopile and precise optical technology. Its internal sensor device has a black-coated, wire-wound electroplated thermopile that efficiently absorbs solar radiation. When sunlight hits the sensor, it converts the light signal into an electrical signal.


The thermal junctions are located on the sensing surface, while the cold junctions are inside the instrument. The thermoelectric effect is generated due to the temperature difference potential between the thermal and cold junctions. Within the linear range, the output signal of the instrument is directly proportional to the solar irradiance. To minimize the impact of temperature on the measurements, the instrument is equipped with a temperature compensation circuit to ensure accuracy and reliability.

To protect the instrument from environmental interference, TBQ-2 features a dual-layer quartz glass cover manufactured through precision optical cold working. This design effectively prevents external light and humidity from affecting the instrument, ensuring stability and long-term reliability.

Furthermore, TBQ-2 series solar radiometer is versatile and capable of measuring radiation in different wavelength ranges, including infrared radiation, visible light, and ultraviolet radiation.
