SNR bearing is a brand with a solid history of quality and reliability. Currently based in France, this notable brand was founded in the late 1800s by Jacques Schmidt. Schmidt manufactured the first rings and balls of the current tempered steel bearings. Having opened a factory in France during World War I, SNR supplied then the needs of the French military aeronautical industry and is known as the first bearing company to obtain ISO-9001 certification.

Facing increased competition and a changing landscape, SNR focused its efforts on quality and, in 1990, became the first bearing manufacturer to obtain ISO-9001 certification. In 1997, SNR’s bearing KOYO st2455 Bearing was awarded the first innovation prize at the Equip Auto Show. The commercial success that followed the award has now made a world standard.
