Tips For Cummins ISX Injector
Cummins ISX Injector is one of the three pairs of precision parts in the fuel supply system of ISX diesel engine. Its normal service life is more than 1000 hours. However, due to improper use, it is often used for hundreds of hours, or even dozens of hours.
I. Main Causes Of Stuck Fuel Injection Nozzle:
1. The diesel oil is not clean and there are impurities in the high-pressure oil pipe, which makes the needle valve couple not closed tightly. The high-pressure gas in the combustion chamber reverses and burns the needle valve couple. In addition, the dirt on the pressure regulating spring, tappet and other parts of the injector moves to the upper part of the needle valve of the injector through the tappet of the injector, or the cotton rope and lead wire used to prevent oil leakage enter the injector through the high-pressure oil pipe, which will cause the needle valve parts to be stuck.
2. The temperature of the machine is too high and the cooling of the fuel injector is poor, which causes the needle valve couple to be stuck. However, the engine will overheat if the oil supply time is too late, the scale in the cooling water channel is too much or blocked, the end face of the water pump impeller is worn, and the engine is overloaded for a long time.
3. The oil outlet valve is worn, which causes oil dripping when the fuel injector stops fuel injection, so that the fuel injection curved nozzle burns coke and deposits carbon, resulting in stuck fault.
4. When the injector is installed, the missing gasket or gasket is damaged, causing air leakage, causing the local temperature of the injector to be too high and stuck.
5. The injection pressure is too low, which causes the high-pressure gas in the combustion chamber to reverse;
6. Reasons for parts manufacturing, such as tight fitting between the injector mounting hole on the cylinder head and the injector, too small clearance between the needle valve body and the mounting hole on the cylinder head, too deep machining of the injector mounting hole on the cylinder head, etc.
II. Repair Method For Stuck Injector
Put the stuck injector into diesel oil or engine oil for heating first, then take it out and wrap it with cloth, then clamp the needle valve with pliers and move it slowly to take the needle valve out of the needle valve body. Drop a small amount of cleaning oil into the needle valve body, so that the needle valve can move repeatedly in the needle valve body until the needle valve can move freely in the needle valve body. If the sealing surface of the needle valve has burn marks, it should be ground with grinding paste. When grinding, pay attention to the amount of grinding paste and grinding time. Install the cleaned needle valve coupling on the fuel injector and adjust the injection pressure before reuse.
