S50C steel is high strength medium carbon steel under the standard JIS G4051. JIS G4051 S50C has low cold-forming plasticity property, poor welding performance and hardenability, but it has no temper brittleness and cutting properties is ok. S50C steel is used in condition of normalizing , quenching or tempering.

S50C steel is widely used to manufacture mechanical product and spring requiring high wear resistance, not big dynamic load and the impact, such as forging of gear, tie rod, roller, shaft, friction plate, agricultural dig colter spindle, heavy load, etc.

C:0.47-0.55, Si:0.17-0.37, Mn:0.50-0.80, S(max):0.035, P(max):0.035, Cr(max):0.25, Ni(max):0.25, Cu(max):0.25
