Description:
Tungsten heavy alloys which can also be called high gravity alloys are refractory metals, it is a kind of alloy using tungsten as matrix and components nickel, iron, copper and other alloying elements.
Basically the most common high density Tungsten alloys is divided into two series, W-Ni-Fe and W-Ni-Cu, sometimes even W-Ni-Cu-Fe.
Our tungsten alloy cube are produced by powder metal and sintering processes.Tungsten heavy alloy contains mainly tungsten ranging from 80wt% to 98wt%, and its density can reach 15.8~18.5g/cm3. Nickel, iron, copper serve as binder between tungsten grains and make the material ductile and more machinable. Compared to W-Ni-Cu, W-Ni-Fe possesses a better mechanical property, being widely used in national defense industry.
Due to high density((15.8-18.5g/cm3) and environmentally friendly composition(compared to lead), heavy metal alloys render it the most ideal materials to be used in military, sports, aerospace, aviation, oil drilling, electrical instrumentation and medical industries.

Applications:
Tungsten heavy alloy, due to a series of excellent physical, chemical and mechanical properties, such as high and adjustable density, high strength and high hardness together with excellent anti-corrosion, anti-abrasion, anti-fatigue machinability and weldability properties, so it is widely used for the balance weight and military industry.
Balance weight | Golf, racing motorcycles, aircrafts, helicopters, vehicles, boats and yachts, sailboat, submarine and other vessels. |
Military industry | Penetrating projectiles, counterweights for military defense, projectiles in the missile weapons, armor piercing ammunition, prefabricated fragments. |
Advantages of tungsten heavy alloy:
Heavy metal alloys, the most outstanding feature is the high density, which is far higher than nickel, titanium and lead alloys. It is employed to be a substitute for those alloys, not only because of its superior physical properties mentioned above, but a low expansion coefficient and high modulus of elasticity.
