  Reverse Osmosis is short for RO, which is a kind of membraine seperation technology, which has developed since 1960s, whose principle is that raw water goes through the RO membraine with the action of high pressure, the solution of water spreads from high concentration to low concentration, in order to achieve the purpose of sepration, purification and concentration. Its direction is in contrast to the natural osmosis, so we can call it Reverse Osmosis. More than 98% soluble salts and bacteria, viruses, glues, organic substances can be removed with the reverse osmosis. This technology has the advantages of low costs, simple operation, more advanced automation and stable water quality of output. Compared with other traditional water treatment methods, it is clearly superior, and it is widely used in relevant water treatment industries.

  This kind of reverse osmosis water treatment technology belongs to physical desalination method, it has the nice features which traditional water treatment methods which do not have:

  1. At room temperature, it adopts the method without no phrase-change to desalt and purify the salty water. Now, the desalination rate of ultra-thin compund membraine elements can achieve to more than 99.5%, at the same time, the glues, organic substances, bacteria and viruses and etc. can be removed.

  2. The treatment of water only depends on the pressure of water as its promotion power, whose energy consumption is the lowest when compared with other water treatment methods.

  3. Reverse osmosis can produce water continuously, and the system is easy, operatin is simple, water quality of product is stable.

  4. Reverse osmosis device has the features of high automation, low workload of operation and maintanance.

  5. This equipment just needs the small working area.

  6. It is not only adapted to the treatment of brackish water and sea water, but also the treatment of fresh water with low-salt. This equipemnt can be ensured by our years of experience, which are the technological design of industrial water treatmentsystem, device maker, complete sets of system, application of membraine, choice of reasonable setting and design parameters.

  Washing method of reverse osmosis equipment:

  Because of its outstanding advantages, it has been increasingly and

  widely used. That is a problem that the clients of weak technological strength may get a loss, therefore, we should manage the reverse osmosis equipment well to avoid the serious problem.

  1. Low pressure flush

  Flush the reverse osmosis equipment with large flow, low pressure, low PH regularly, which is good for removing the dirty from membraine’s surface to keep the membraine properties, otherwise,we should have a low pressure flush when the input water SDI of reverse osmosis equipment goes up to more than 5.5. start the equipment when SDI goes back to the qualified value.

  2. Outage protection

  Because of the fluctuation of production, it is unavoidable to shut the reverse osmosis down.

  We should take protective measures when it is in outage, and the unproper treatment can reduce the membraine property and we cannot recover it.

  Short-term out protection is just suitable for the outage under 15d, we can use low pressure flush to protect the equipment every1~3d. Through a lot of practice, when water temprature is over 20℃, the water is in RO equipment for 3 days which would stink, meanwhile it will produce a lot of bacteria. As a result, the suggestion is that when water temprature is over 20℃, we flush it with low pressure every 2d or 1d, when water is less 20℃, low pressure flush every 3 days, we should notice that after the flush, we must close all the inlet and putlet valves of RO equipment.

  Long-term outage protection is suitable for the outage more than 15d, we must flush fungicide into the RO equipment to protect it. The common formula of fungicide ( compund membraine) is formaldehyde 10 (mass fraction), isothiazolinone 20mg/L,sodium hydrogensulfite 1 (mass fraction).

  3. Chemical washing

  In the normal condition, RO membraine can be polluted by inorganic

  dirty, glues, microorganisms, metallic oxide and so on. These substances settle on the surface of membraine which can reduce the output water or desalination and raise the pressure, even cause the unrecoverable damage of membraine, so in order to recover the permeable ability and desalization, we need chemical washing to the membraine.

  In general, it is flushed one time during the period of 3~12 months, if

  it must be flushed every month, which shows that pre-treatment system should be made better to adjust the operation parameters. If it is flushed during 1~3 months, which shows the operation level of equipment need to be raised, whether or not, the pre-treatment system need to be improved, which is hard to decide.
