Gypsum introduction:
Gypsum is a soft sulfate mineral composed of calcium sulfate dihydrate, with the chemical formula CaSO4·2H2O. To make gypsum as construction material, calcination process is needed, and part crystal water will be removed from gypsum. The calcined gypsum's chemical formula is CaSO4· 1/2H2O. It is widely used as raw material for gypsum board, plaster, cornice, school chalk, etc.
The gypsum board production line is composed of crushing system,grinding system, calcining system, energy supply system, conveying system, packing system and storage system.
The basic process of making gypsum powder is:gypsum rock -- crusher -- raw material silo -- gypsum rotary kiln -- grinder- silo-- packing machine
The Crusher will break the big-size gypsum ore into small pieces, and then the small pieces will be sent gypsum rotary kiln for calcining, after calcining, using raymond to grind gypsum into fine powder, then using packing machine.

Raw Materials:Content of CaSO4 2H2O in gypsum mine >80%.The grade of mine and the crystal configuration will influence the quality of semi-hydrated gypsum.

Gypsum calcination equipment is a pyroprocessing device used to raise materials to a high temperature (calcination) in a continuous process.
Materials produced using rotary kilns include:cement, lime, refractories, metakaolin,titanium dioxide,alumina,vermiculite,iron
ore pellets, zinc oxide,gypsum, etc.

combustion.
Working principle of Gypsum calcination equipment :
Gypsum calcination equipment is a cylindrical vessel, inclined slightly to the horizontal, which is rotated slowly about its axis. The material to be
processed is fed into the upper end of the cylinder. As the kiln rotates, material gradually moves down towards the lower end,
and may undergo a certain amount of stirring and mixing. Hot gases pass along the kiln, sometimes in the same direction as
the process material (co-current), but usually in the opposite direction (counter-current).

1 Crushing, Grinding Section
The forklift driver removes the gypsum ore from the quarry into the hopper in front of the crusher, and then the gypsum ore is crushed into the 20mm materials, which are later sent to the mill by the hoist to be grinded into qualified gypsum powder (raw gypsum).
2 Calcining Section
The grinded gypsum powder is lifted into gypsum calcining machine for calcination. The calcining machine uses gas heat conduction oil furnace, however, other fuels like coal, methane, LPG, diesel oil, heavy oil, etc. can also be used. Due to its low temperature, slow burning calcining mode, the stability of gypsum quality is well ensured.
3 Finished Product Packing and Storing Section
Calcined gypsum powder is lifted into the finished product silo through a hoist, where an automatic weighing and packaging machine is used to pack 50kg gypsum powder per bag for marketing or storing.
Application of gypsum:
Gypsum board is primarily used as a finish for walls and ceilings, and is known in construction as drywall, sheetrock or plasterboard. Gypsum blocks are used like concrete blocks in building construction. Gypsum mortar is an ancient mortar used in building construction. Plaster ingredients are used in surgical splints, casting moulds and modeling.
