System overview
The frothy in the converter steel making furnace slag will affect the smelting processing directly And sputter will be produced by too much froth, which will lead to the difficulty to operate and also the iron loss increase; on the other hand, if the froth is too little, it will get dry quickly, which is not good for desulphurization. Using the converter sound melt slag system could detect how the sound is changing and what the characteristics are. And this function could make us take actions to avoid the occurrence of dry and sputter.

System principle
The detection of slag layer thickness can be treated as the process of slag test. The sounds collected by the converter have five sources. These sources of noise power and intensity are listed in the table as below:

The system highlights the sounds of oxygen flow and the sounds impacted on the melten pool , and the thickness of the slag layer could be measured by those sounds, starting from selection of sound frequency ,we can estimate the oxygen flow level of the noise according to the total sounds .
