UIM 240 step driver
UIM24002/24004/24008 is a series of miniature, high performance PARALLEL PORT PWM Chopper Constant Current Bipolar step drivers. They can be mounted onto 42/57/60/86mm (They are NEMA17, NEMA23, NEMA24 and NEMA34 stepper motor) stepping motors seamless through corresponding flanges. The thickness of these stepper drives is less than 14mm, UIM 24002 is capable to provide 0.5-2A adjustable current output. UIM 24004 is capable for 1.6-4A adjustable current output. UIM24008 is capable for 2A-8A.adjustable current output. Their mixed-decay current control reduces the back-EMF effect under high speed running condition and improves the performance. Except the UIM24002 takes 10-35VDC input, UIM240xx series stepper drives can work with 12 to 40VDC input.. Enclosures of the UIM240xx stepper drivers are made of die-cast aluminum which provide a rugged and durable protection and improve the heat dissipation.

Bipolar constant current microstepping
This is an improved version of the basic full- and half- stepping bipolar constant-current driver. Here, the winding currents form a sine/cosine pair. This greatly improves lowfrequency stepping by eliminating overshot movements, ringing, and resonances. Performance at medium and high-stepping rates are close to that of full- and half-stepping.
This driver uses the same power stage as the bipolar constant-current driver, but extra electronics for setting the sine/cosine current levels are used. Microstepping can be used with different microstep lengths. A shorter step length than 1⁄32 of a fullstep normally does not make any further improvement in the motor’s motion. With most microstepping controllers, is it also possible to run the normal full- and half-step modes.
Microstepping can also increase motor resolution and step accuracy.
