Particle size is an important property affecting burn rate.  

It burns very brightly when combined with oxidizers, and high mesh mixes are known to deflagrate rapidly.

a. Aluminum Powder + Metal Oxide = Burn brilliantly and release a tremendous amount of energy in a very short period of time.

b. Aluminum Powder + Potassium Perchlorate = Produce a bang and a flash. 

c. Aluminum Powder + Iron Oxide Powder = Form Thermite.

  Produce a tremendous of heat, which is useful in many industrial processes.
