PVD stands for Physical Vapor Deposition, among hardware industry, PVD is frequently referred to as Ion Plating (IP). PVD is the technology of using physical way to coat materials onto the substrates in the condition of vacuum.
Cathodic arc deposition ( Arc-PVD ) machine is used for coating anti-abrasive films (such as TiN, TiC and TiALN), anti-corrosive films (such as Cr, TiN), decorative films (gold-imitation TiN) such as watchcase, little hardware and ceramic decoration.
Titanium Nitride is a gold coloured ceramic coating applied by PVD. High hardness combined with low friction properties ensure considerably longer tool life, or alternatively, better cutting performance from tools which have not been coated. TiN coating is used mainly for drills and taps.

Question 3: What do I have to do for my products before processing by the vacuum coater?
Answer: In vacuum area, the products(we call it"substrate") have to be CLEAN, DRY AND SMOOTH. So we will need washer and dryer, sometimes base varnish, and topcoat to protect the coatings.
Question 4: Do I have to pay the costs for pollution?
Answer: The machine is environment-friendly, there is no liquid chemical waste and harmful gas. This is a kind of green technology.
