Prepainted aluminum (prepainted aluminum coil), which is produced with aluminum sheet or (aluminum coil) and processed by coating with color. In common sense, there are two kinds of prepainted aluminum coil-PVDF and  PE, which are widly used in aluminum plate, aluminum veneer, aluminum honeycomb panels, aluminum ceiling, shingles, scrap, pop-top, electronics. Compared with other section steel prepainted aluminum coil is the most popular material, because of its accelent property. Firstly  property is very stable. Secondly surface is errossion resitant, after specail treatment warranty could up to 30 years. At last, density is the lowest among metal material when volume is fixed.

1. Summarization

Producing Standard: According to industry standard YS/T431-2000, Aluminum and aluminum alloy plates, coil coated sheet and strip, this standard equal to British standard, BS EN 1936-1997, Aluminum and aluminum alloy plates, coil coated sheet and strip for general applications-specifications.
Color coated Aluminum coil details:
1) The types of coating: PE and PVDF mainly.
2) Thickness paint layer: PVDF: more then 25 micron; PE, more then 18 micron.
3) Paint: PPG or Nippon.
4) Interior diameter: 405mm, 505mm, 150mm etc.
5) Width: from 30mm-1600mm, thickness: 0.02mm to 1.5mm,
6) Color: RAL or as per customers' samples.
7) Coating hardness: (pencil hardness) more than 2H
8) Impact resistance: no cracking and peeling (50kg/cm, ASTMD-2794:1993)
9) Flexibility (T-bend): no more than 2T
10) MEK resistance: more than 100

Measurement Deviation

The thickness tolerance for cans lid, rings of 3003, 3004, 3104, 5042, 5182 and 8011 etc is ±0.01, the thickness tolerance of the base materials for Aluminum-plastic composite panel(before coating) should be in line with the sheet below in YS/T431-2000.

The width and length tolerance for color coated aluminum sheet should be in line with the sheet below:

Color flexibility 

The flexibility of the organic coating is assessed by

subjecting the material to a bend test.

The bend test may be carried out according to

ISO 1519. It may be carried out either in the

longitudinal or the transverse direction unless

otherwise specified.

As an alternative to the devices covered in

ISO 1519 the following method may be used to carry

out the bending
