The main properties of the plant gum

Solubility in water:  insoluble in the plant gum of any organic solvent such as ethanol, glycerol, formamide. Water is the only solvent in the plant gum.

Viscosity:  Hydrated plant gum water can swell a sol liquid of high viscosity. The viscosity increases significantly with increasing concentration of the powder. Vegetable glue is non-Newtonian fluid, the viscosity decreases with increasing shear rate.

Salt Performance:  Because of its non-ionic nature, plants are generally not the glue of cationic and anionic, and no salting.

Gel: Hydrated plant gum with borax, dichromate and other chemical crosslinking agents, the formation having a non-Newtonian viscoelastic aqueous gel. This gel viscosity than the viscosity of glue several times or even hundreds of times higher.
