Carbon monoxide is an important basic chemistry raw material. It can be used to make acetic acid, acetic anhydride, oxalate, ethylene glycol, oxalicacid, dimethyl formamide, dimethyl carbonate, formic acid and phosgene synthesis(TDI, MDI) etc. The pure carbon monoxide needed by the phosgene synthesis can be separated and extracted from all kinds of gas mixtures with carbon monoxide. The raw gases that can be used to separate carbon monoxide in the industrial purposes includes: natural gas, synthesis gas turned from petroleum, water gas, semi-water gas, tail gas from steel, calcium carbide plant and yellow phosphorus plant etc.
Introductions of products
The PSA carbon monoxide separation technology is an international emerging technology. We have developed the efficient sorbent PU-1, which is better capacity of adsorption and selectivity for carbon monoxide. It has ever gained the patents by China, the United States and Canada. According to the characteristics of this sorbent, the successfully developed, international advanced, high efficient and low wasting PSA carbon monoxide separation technology has solved the problem separating high-purity carbon monoxide from raw gases with high content of nitrogen or methane. Many large sets of carbon monoxide separating devices have been designed. It brings users enormous economic benefit and has been highly praised. This technology has awarded the 2005 “ten science and technology development of Chinese universities” and the second prize of 2006 “national technology invention.”
Performance index:
1) Product scale: 100~40000Nm3/h
2) Product purity: normal designing valve ≥98.5%, purity can be flexibly adjusted. The highest being 99.99%
3) Yield of carbon monoxide: when the purity id, the yield is 75%-95%
4) Equipment consumption: when the product yield is the same as the purity, the consumption is lower 30% than other cosmetic adsorption process and the dosage of the raw gas saves above 50%.
