Automatic True North Finding Equipement Used In Tunnel Measurement
Introduction
North finder is mainly used to find true north automatically. It is composed
of MEMS gyro, dual axis accelerometer, mechanical rotation device and signal
algorithm electric circuit.
Mini gyro north finder use speed gyro to measure the component on reference
direction of earth rotation speed, then calculate heading angle. Because the earth
rotation speed is very slow and hart to detect, so polaris use a high accuracy servo
driving system to drive the one or more gyro gyro rotation, the north finder is not
affected by magnet field and it need to work on horizontal level and almost static
status.
