Printing thickener sodium alginat
1)General Description
Sodium Alginate is an ideal printing paste. It is yellowish powder. It contains positive charge, which has mutual repulsion with electro positivity contained in reactive dyestuffs, yet it won’t be covalent bonding with reactive dyestuff, and that makes dyestuffs stick to paste. Sodium Alginate is widely applied to different kinds of textile printing, such as cotton, linen, silk and synthetic fibre. Since the coming out of reactive dyestuffs, Sodium Alginate has been in application for many decades of experience. So far, there is no other paste better than it. Through large application, Sodium Alginate has very strong thickening ability, easy operation, and stable performance. It doesn’t affect coloration of dyestuffs on fibre. At the same time, it makes printing textile to attain bright colors, sharp definition and good color yield, high color fixing and soft hand feeling. Liquid mixture with Sodium Alginate has good plasticity and flexibility. Owing to its perfect effect on textile printing and low cost, Sodium Alginate is popular in application.

2.PH value: 6.5-7.5 in 1% water solution

5.Application: Ideal printing paste to reactive dyes
6.Performance:
At PH value 6-11, Sodium Alginate has better stability. When PH value is lower than 6, Sodium Alginate will be separated out from solution. When PH value is higher than 11, Sodium Alginate will condense. If Sodium Alginate goes bad, viscosity will largely drop down, foam can be seen on the liquid level and odor can be smelt. At the same time, Sodium Alginate becomes black from brown. Being together with metallic salt, Sodium Alginate will be separated out from water. Hence, zinc chloride can not be used conserving agent here.
3)Property and Features
1. Have no reaction or covalent bonding with reactive dyestuffs. It doesn’t contain primary radical, but second radical. In base ring, it has radical with strong electro negativity.
2. Sodium Alginate with low or medium viscosity is acceptable for screen printing and hand printing. Sodium Alginate has pseudoplasticly rheology behavior. Sodium Alginate is suitable for printing fine patterns or wetondry.
3. Good water-solubility, high water absorption and foaming capacity. Have irreversible reaction with calcium ion and become gel.
4) Usage
Formula of Sodium Alginate paste: warm water (40~55°C) 80Kg; Calgon 0.6-0.8Kg;
Sodium carbonate 0.2-0.6Kg; Sodium Alginate 5-8Kg; Formaldehyde 37.5% 1-2L
Certain amount of water. Gross 100Kg.
First, pour 80Kg warm water and calgon into barrel. During stirring, slowly add Sodium carbonate to mixture. Well stir the mixture until even graininess paste turning up. Later, add water to 100Kg. Adjust PH value at 7-8, by using sodium carbonate.
5)Safety Notes
Product should be stored in shady and cool places. Don’t let it exposed to the sun. Performance won’t be affected with damp. Guarantee period is six months.
