3.Construction and Features

This machine is composed of pay-off stand, headstock, tube, bobbin holder, under-roller, die holder, haul-off capstans, brake, take-up & traversing stand, and safety hood.

3.1.Pay-off Stand

Located before the headstock, it is actually a bobbin holder fitted on a support. The methods for installation of bobbin and for the adjustment of tension are shown on the stand.

3.2. Headstock

Located after the pay-off stand, the tube component is joined with the main shaft of the headstock on one side, and drive is passed from a motor into the headstock via a belt. With the change of the gear handle, its possible for the tube to get two speeds, which is optional to the user as per different wire diameter and material. It is suggested that low-speed shift should be used for large diameter wire.

3.3.Stranding tube

The stranding tube is formed by three tubes combined together, which are featured by two windows and outside threading. There are 12 windows on the circumference of the tube to make it easy to load or unload the bobbin; inside the tube dam plate is welded, on which bearing seats are fitted. The bobbin holder is supported on the bearing seat on the two ends, which are on the same co-axis with the tube. Therefore, when the tube rotates, the bobbin remains basically still.

 

3.4.Bobbin holder

The bobbin holder is of pintle type. Put the bobbin in the left and right sleeves on the holder, and then insert it into the shaft input of the bevel gearbox when locking device props out by itself. Operate the handle to make the bevel gear run, driving the rack to move the pintle to push the bobbin tightly, then remove the handle, and the locking device springs back by itself to lock. Its the same process to unload an empty bobbin.

 

Adjustment of tension for the bobbin: by adjusting the rope on the tension wheel it is possible to get suitable tension for the bobbin during pay-off operation.

 

3.5.Under-roller

The tube is supported by the headstock on one end, and the rest ends by three sets of under-rollers. The outer layer of the under-roller is made of aluminum alloy, with bearings on two sides, and there is an oil cup inside the hood, and oil drips from the cup lubricate the under-rollers so as to minimize noise.

 

3.6.Die holder

Located after the tube, die holder is for adjusting and bunching the wire and fixing the focus. By turning the hand wheel at the back of the die holder, its possible to enable the die holder to move along the axis. In the center of the die holder, there is a square slot to accommodate the wire die.

 

3.7.Gearbox and Haul-off Capstans

Gearbox is located after the die holder, and the haul-off capstans are joined behind the gearbox, which is for shifting the pitch and stranding the wires. Drive is from the output shaft of the transmission box, and is passed directly into the gearbox and the haul-off capstans by the transmission shaft.

 

The gearbox has 16 stages of speed, which is achieved by turning the 4 handles, and the haul-off capstans have 3 stages of speed, which can provide 48 shifts of speed. The other handle on the haul-off capstans is for change of direction, which can achieve left or right stranding.

 

3.8.Brake

In the middle of the tube there are three pairs of brakes, and for every pair of brakes there are two brakes. When power supply to the main machine is off, solenoid valve turns on to enable air push a lever through film cylinder, and the pair of brake shoes clamps the brake ring, thus forcing a stop quickly.

 

After a stop, at the force of time delay, the solenoid valve is turned off, and the lever is reset by itself under the force of spring, and the brake shoes are released so that tube can run again.

 

3.9.Take-up & traversing stand

The take-up & traversing stand is stationary individually driven by a torque motor. It is composed of universal shaft coupling, bracket, pillar, lifting mechanism and moving box.

 

3.10. Safety Hood

Of pull-door type, it is made of high quality cold-rolled thin steel plate by cold-pressing after being punched into checkered pattern, supported on rollers. The look is good, and it is easy to pull or push.

 

Safety hood is to prevent foreign objects from falling into the tube while preventing broken wire from flying out of the tube to cause injury to operators. Limit protectors and cut-off protectors are set inside.

 

3.11. Base

Made of high strength cast iron after full heat-treatment and getting rid of stress, it is stable in performance and high in strength and rigidity. No deformation during operation for a long period efficiently guarantees center linearity of the tube.

 

4. Electrical Equipment

Power in 3-phase 4-line system: 380/220 V, 50 Hz.

Control voltage: 220 V (AC).

For wire breakage stopper, input: AC 24 V, output: DC 12 V.

Electrical elements are of Chinese make.
